Imagine the chill, dark frozen St. Lawrence River between Canada and the US., midwinter, and illegal immigration. Two women find themselves inextricably involved in a society, where for want of jobs, most people seem to work in either crime or law enforcement. Melissa Leo (Oscar nominated for Best Actress) is superb in the role of a single mother struggling to make things better for her children. Lives are lost when the ice cracks!
