Language Spanish Almodovar has always managed to combine elegance and exuberance and his latest movie is no exception. The action unfolds over two periods of time, flashing back and forth between the present day and 1994, when Mateo, a former film director (played by Lluis Homar) loses his sight in a car crash. He also loses the love of his life, Lena, played by an exquisite Penelope Cruz. This film within a film pays homage to Hitchcock and is head spinning in its complexity at times but is full of pure movie-going pleasure.
