SUMMARY:Visual Arts: "AS IS"
DESCRIPTION:As Is…\nA selection of images has been curated by the artist Jessica Callan\, from her own working phone\, creating a tiny glimpse of a visual world.  \n  \n“By looking at our phones\, we live our lives with the captured image.  The phone has many uses: vicarious living some of the time\, at other times for direct communication\, and used as a tool for visual documentation.” \nSome of these images have been altered by the artist\, embellishing the narrative.  Playing with the realities existing\, the reality seen by the artist\, the reality sent as communications\, and the reality received. \n  \nThe artist uses predominant themes such as; identity\, the self\, and transience.  With the use of colour\, the absence of colour\, and the ephemeral\, she works with ideas in 2D through to sculptural objects\, time-based works to paintings. \nOriginally from Dublin\, Callan is a fine art graduate of the National College of Art and Design\, Dublin\, now living and working in Kerry.  Her work has been exhibited in Ireland\, the UK\, and Europe. \nExhibition Launch on Friday 16th October 5-7pm\nAddmission Free\, all welcome \n  \nExhibition viewing from: \n 10am-5pm\, Tuesdays -Thursdays\,  20th Oct- 5th Nov\, 2026. \nCarnegie Arts Centre\, Kenmare\, Co. Kerry\, V93 PD1W
