DESCRIPTION:Siún Milne  –  Concert Violin\nThursday – 6th August 7pm\n\nTickets: €10.00\nVenue: The Carnegie Arts Centre\n\n\nSiún studied violin at Cork School of Music with Ruxandra Petcu. Siún is a keen chamber musician and has performed with a variety of ensembles throughout her career including The Vanbrugh and Callino String Quartet\, Hebrides Ensemble\, Scottish Ensemble\, Aurora Orchestra and Crash Ensemble. She has performed in a chamber septet with Pekka Kuusisto and played Soldier’s Tale with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. Siun has participated in masterclasses with Gerhard Schulz at IMS Prussia Cove and has had classes with Sarah Chang\, Thomas Brandis and Pavlo Beznosiuk. As a part of Ólafur Arnald’s string quartet\, Siún performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival\, Cross-Linx Festival\, Volksbühne Berlin and has toured the UK with Arnald’s soundtrack for “Broadchurch”. She has performed with a diverse range of artists including Mícheál O’ Suilleabháin\, Frankie Gavin\, singer-songwriter Rumer on BBC’sLater with Jools Holland\, Loah at the National Concert Hall and Efterklang. She was a member of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra 2019-2024. She also plays regularly with the Irish Chamber Orchestra and has performed with renowned soloists such as Tabea Zimmerman\, Igor Levit\, Elizabeth Leonskaja and Jörg Widmann at Zürich Tonhalle\, BBC Proms\, Wiener Konzerthaus\, Würzburg Mozart Fest\, Storioni Festival Eindhoven\, Rheingau Festival\, Lincoln Centre New York and Konzerthaus Berlin. She has taken part in numerous chamber music festivals in Ireland such as West Cork Chamber Festival\, Killaloe Festival\, Ortús and Samuel Beckett Festival. She is a member of the Ora String Quartet who recently broadcast for RTÉ Lyric FM.
