SUMMARY:MUSIC DAGO RED
DESCRIPTION:Dago Red\nIf there is one thing Dago Red has learned while clocking up miles across Europe\, it is that music needs no translation when it speaks the language of the soul. Born in 1998 as a busking trio\, they have evolved into one of the most respected acts on the international Folk\, Roots and Blues circuit. \nWith a sound that captured the critics from the very beginning\, the band’s songwriting has stood out on the global stage. For example\, their track “What’s For” earned an honorable mention at the International Songwriting Competition\, a prestigious award judged by music icons such as Tom Waits and Keith Richards. \n  \nThis creative depth has been a constant throughout their career: their debut album\, “Folk’n Blues Memory and Other Tales”\, earned praise from Italian legend Eugenio Finardi; the song “Sorry Folks” spent three weeks as the featured hit on Frank Hennesey’s BBC Radio Wales “Celtic Heartbeat” programme; and their latest release\, “Cicada”\, was named “Album of the Month” by the International Blues Broadcasting Association (IBBA). \n  \nWith over 1\,000 concerts under their belt\, the stage is Dago Red’s true home. They have brought their sound to theatres and clubs in France\, Ireland\, England\, Scotland\, Germany\, the Netherlands\, and\, of course\, Italy\, performing at the most prestigious European festivals. \nTheir timeline tells a story of genuine passion: \n2012: Winners of the Italian Blues Challenge. \n2013: Representing Italy at the European Blues Challenge in Berlin. \nDiscography: 5 albums marking their evolution from blues classics to original songs with a powerful identity. \nDago Red doesn’t just play music; they invite the audience to share a stretch of the road with them—amidst the dust\, the smiles\, and that spark of sincere energy that only the finest music can deliver. \n  \nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYRZ2t4Y3yc \nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3u00TzSSdw

SUMMARY:Visual Arts: "AS IS"
DESCRIPTION:As Is…\nA selection of images has been curated by the artist Jessica Callan\, from her own working phone\, creating a tiny glimpse of a visual world.  \n  \n“By looking at our phones\, we live our lives with the captured image.  The phone has many uses: vicarious living some of the time\, at other times for direct communication\, and used as a tool for visual documentation.” \nSome of these images have been altered by the artist\, embellishing the narrative.  Playing with the realities existing\, the reality seen by the artist\, the reality sent as communications\, and the reality received. \n  \nThe artist uses predominant themes such as; identity\, the self\, and transience.  With the use of colour\, the absence of colour\, and the ephemeral\, she works with ideas in 2D through to sculptural objects\, time-based works to paintings. \nOriginally from Dublin\, Callan is a fine art graduate of the National College of Art and Design\, Dublin\, now living and working in Kerry.  Her work has been exhibited in Ireland\, the UK\, and Europe. \nExhibition Launch on Friday 16th October 5-7pm\nAddmission Free\, all welcome \n  \nExhibition viewing from: \n 10am-5pm\, Tuesdays -Thursdays\,  20th Oct- 5th Nov\, 2026. \nCarnegie Arts Centre\, Kenmare\, Co. SUMMARY:NSQF Young Artists Summer Tour - AURELIAN ENSEMBLE
DESCRIPTION:National String Quartet Foundation\nbringing Live Chamber Music to The Carnegie Arts Centre\nTHE AURELIAN ENSEMBLE  \nwill perform on Friday 28th August at 6pm\n\n\n\n\nFRANZ SCHUBERT – Octet in F major D.803 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Aurelian Ensemble is a brand new Chamber Music Collective\, founded out of a shared love for Franz Schubert’s monumental Octet in F Major — a work whose warmth\, lyricism\, and symphonic scale have inspired musicians and audiences for generations. \nWritten in 1824 and modelled in part after Beethoven’s Septet\, the Octet expands the possibilities of chamber music with sweeping melodies\, rich textures\, and extraordinary interplay between the eight performers. \nThese performances celebrate Schubert’s Octet as the piece that has brought these eight dynamic young musicians – from a variety of backgrounds and all high achievers in their own right – together for their inaugural tour. \n\nTickets are €20 \nTickets available at: www.carnegieartskenmare.ie \n  \n\n

SUMMARY:Work is the Curse of the Drinking Classes
DESCRIPTION:Work is the Curse of the Drinking Classes\nby Neil Titley \nStarring Will Govan and directed by Rebecca O’Connor \n  \n  \nSet in Paris in 1898\, Will Govan plays an exiled Oscar Wilde looking back on his extraordinarily colourful life and ruminating on love\, fame\, family and misfortune with his infamous wit and irreverence in this hilarious but ultimately tragic story. \n  \nThe play draws on Wilde’s letters\, essays and anecdotes to bring this literary genius to life in a 60-minute performance which will appeal as much to those who know little about the man as it will to those who admire his work. \n  \nThis play has delighted audiences in hundreds of venues across the world\, including the USA\, Canada\, India\, Hong Kong\, Uruguay\, Zimbabwe\, Bahrain and Ethiopia. \n  \n‘Titley balances Wilde’s almost dutiful humour with an unsentimental portrayal of his suffering in Reading Gaol\, his bitter perception of man’s inhumanity to man. He also captures his character’s dignity in despair and the comedy makes the heartbreak of Wilde’s life even more poignant. It is a most moving effect.’ Evening Standard \n  \n‘Funny and melancholic.’ The Times \n  \n‘Charming and witty.’ Irish Times \n  \n‘Fine and genuinely moving.’ Festival Times\, Edinburgh \n  \n‘I found myself finding out more about Wilde than any lecturer in an entire semester of school could teach. A highly intelligent piece of writing that I would gladly recommend.’ Ontario Arts Review
